In a unexpected collaboration that challenges conventional forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Disclosed

According to the authorized announcement, "An unusual confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of prohibited practices and fearsome metamorphoses resonate through the obscurity." The plot introduces a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a clandestine cult.

The questline concentrates on "peculiar experiments and a terrifying enemy" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Iconic Locations and Metamorphoses

The preview highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview ends with a powerful moment showing a character, likely the captive, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Prizes and Extra Material

Players who finish the mission will acquire an exclusive katana alongside several objects concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

Newest Free Story Content

This update also adds the game's latest free story episode, titled "The Mystery." This humorous mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature abilities: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also features a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
